Abstract
Die Entwicklung von Services und Applikationen für die zukünftige "dritte Generation" der mobilen Datenkommunikation (3G) ist von der Faszination des technisch Machbaren geprägt. Sinnvolle Anwendungen und tragfähige Geschäftsmodelle können jedoch nur mit einem Fokus auf die Bedürfnisse der zukünftigen Nutzer entworfen werden. Bisher fehlen praxisrelevante Methoden, welche die Berücksichtigung von Kundenbedürfnissen in der frühen Phase des Forschungs- & Entwicklungsprozesses ermöglichen. Mit dem aufgezeigten Ansatz des Systemdesign kann das System "Mobile Datenkommunikation" in einem ersten Schritt in seinen Möglichkeiten und Anforderungen analysiert werden. In einem zweiten Schritt werden grobe Anwendungsfelder entwickelt und in der Folge zu Nutzerszenarien ausgearbeitet. Auf dieser Grundlage können systematisch Services und Applikationen aus den situationsbezogenen Bedürfnissen von zukünftigen Nutzern entwickelt werden. Die Methoden des Systemdesign werden in der Frühphase des Forschungs- & Entwicklungsprozesses eingesetzt, um innovative, bedürfnis- und damit marktgerechte Produkt- und Servicekonzepte zu gestalten.
