Abstract

Dieses erste deutsche Symbollexikon auf CD-ROM ist ein umfassendes Basiswerk, das Erklärungen zu den wichtigsten Symbolen aus den Kulturen aller Zeiten bietet. Der Autor, Prof. Dr. Hans Biedermann, hat für seine erhellenden Erläuterungen eine Vielzahl archäologischer, völkerkundlicher, kunstgeschichtlicher und psychologischer Studien ausgewertet und mit dem vorliegenden Lexikon einen anschaulichen Wegweiser durch die Symbolwelt geschaffen. 530 Artikel informieren über die Bedeutungsgeschichte von Farben, Himmelskörpern, geometrischen Grundformen, Tieren, Pflanzen und Zahlen, über sagenhafte Orte und Gestalten. Mehr als 600 Abbildungen und Farbtafeln sowie eine Bibliographie vervollständigen dieses unterhaltsame Lexikon. Die benutzerfreundlichen Softwarefunktionen erlauben es dem Anwender, zielgerichtet in den Wörterbuchartikeln zu recherchieren, nach Abbildungen zu suchen, Querverbindungen zwischen den einzelnen Artikeln per Mausklick zu verfolgen und vieles andere mehr.
