Im Bereich des elektronischen DokumentenManagements hat zudem der Gesetzgeber mit der GDPdU (Grundsätze zum Datenzugriff und zur Prüfbarkeit digitaler Unterlagen) 2001 neue Auflagen für die revisionssichere digtale Archivierung und Verwaltung von Dokumenten geschaffen. Viele Unternehmen müssen bestehende Dokumenten-Management-Systeme (DMS) daher nachrüsten, auf modernere Systeme migrieren oder ein geeignetes DMS neu einführen. Hier bietet eine aktuelle, neutrale und groß angelegte Marktübersicht zu DMS Orientierung, die der Fachverband für Organisations- und Informationssysteme (VOI), Darmstadt, zusammen mit der FH Darmstadt und INFOSOFT AG erstellt hat. Die Marktübersicht präsentiert Interessenten nicht nur Informationen zu Herstellern, Produkten und Zielgruppen von DMS, sondern führt im ersten Teil auch in Grundbegriffe, Basisfunktionalitäten und Leistungsmerkmale ein und skizziert den Einführungsprozess von Dokument-Management-Systemen in Unternehmen. Die eigentlichen Marktdaten umfassen ein kurzes Firmenprofil, die Charakterisierung des jeweiligen DMS-Produkts nach Anwendungsbereich, Produktkategorie und Branchenorientierung, sowie Referenzen und technische Informationen zu System-Plattformen, Schnittstellen und Integrationsmöglichkeiten mit weiteren Anwendungen. Angaben zur Mandatenfähigkeit und Erfüllung des DOMEA-Standards runden die Produktklassifizierung ab. Ein gesonderter Teil liefert einen tabellarischen Überblick über die Detailfunktionalitäten der vorgestellten Systeme. Damit gibt die Marktübersicht dem Interessenten ein ausgefeiltes Bewertungsschema an die Hand, das ihm die Beurteilung der vorgestellten (und weiterer) Dokument-Management-Systeme wesentlich erleichtert. Aktualität (Redaktionsende August 2002) und Abdeckung sprechen weiter für diesen Marktüberblick, ebenso wie der Preis, der mit 150,- Euro im günstigeren Drittel von Marktübersichten liegt."
