Abstract

Das »Verzeichnis der im deutschen Sprachraum erschienenen Drucke des 17. Jahrhunderts (VD-17)« wurde bis September 2002 im Datenbanksystem OMNIS-Myriad erstellt. Im vorliegenden Aufsatz wird dargelegt, weshalb nach sieben Jahren ein Systemwechsel notwendig war. Die Entscheidungs-, Vorbereitungsund Arbeitsphasen bei der Durchführung der Migration zum PICA-System werden detailliert beschrieben. Ein Schwerpunkt liegt auf der Darstellung der Aspekte, die die Änderungen im Kategorienformat und den Satzstrukturen und die Arbeitsvorgänge bei der Erschließung betreffen. Als Fazit wird festgehalten, dass die Migration der VD-17-Datenbank insgesamt sehr positiv verlaufen ist.
