Abstract

Traces the history of the establishment of OCLC in Europe, including problems facing European libraries using OCLC, as well as the benefits of OCLC. OCLC is now widely used in Europe and the use of services there may be more advanced than developments in the USA. Expresses the hope that increasingly closer relations will develop between european and US users, as they work together toward universal access
