Content: "Mitte Juni hieß es, dass nach eigenen Angaben der Osloer Firma Fast, Search & Transfer ASA deren Suchmaschine AlltheWeb (www.allthe web.com) über mehr Ressourcen als Google verfüge. Sie durchsuche 2 095 568 809 gegenüber 2 073 418 204 WebDokumenten bei Google. Bekanntlich sagt die Menge aber nichts über die Qualität aus - so die Reaktion seitens Google. Wie der Suchmaschinenexperte Klaus Schallhorn (www. kso.co.uk/) meldete, rechnet AlltheWeb dazu anscheinend auch Doppler und Seiten, die nicht mehr existieren. Außerdem, so Schallhorn, ignoriere AlltheWeb die Datei robots. txt, die festlegt, welche Dokumente/Verzeichnisse Suchmaschinen nicht durchsuchen sollen. In einem nach seinen Worten `keineswegs umfassenden' Vergleich zwischen AlltheWeb, AltaVista, Google und Fireball kommt Schallhorn zu dem Schluss, dass Google und AlltheWeb zwar meist führend sind, was die Zahl der Treffer angeht, aber je nach Suchbegriff mal die eine, mal die andere Suchmaschine die Nase vorn hat - ungeachtet der Frage, auf welcher Art Daten die Ergebnisse basieren."
