Abstract

Ausgehend von der Tatsache, dass für die Pflege jeder größeren Datensammlung die Erkennung von `Doppelheiten' bedeutsam ist, wird in dieser Arbeit systematisch der Frage nachgespürt, worin sich dieses Phänomen eigentlich manifestiert und weshalb es sich in vielen Schattierungen seiner Ausprägung nicht trivialerweise durch den Einsatz von Standard-Methoden auflösen lässt. Nach einer prinzipiellen Klärung dessen, was unter `doppelt' überhaupt zu verstehen ist, wird eine theoretische Position entwickelt, vor der sich der Problemgehalt im eigentlichen Sinne erst entfaltet und interpretieren lässt. Darauf aufbauend wird ein Ansatz zur praktischen Identifikation von Doppelheiten vorgestellt, der insbesondere in hochstrukturierten Datenbanken mit laufenden Updates aus heterogenen Quellen einen Lösungsansatz zur Elimination solcher Doppelungen im Datenbestand aufzeigt
