Abstract

Der erste Teil des Buches behandelt Grundlagen der Software-Ergonomie und beginnt mit einer Begriffsbestimmung von Benutzerschnittstelle, Benutzeroberfläche und Benutzbarkeit. Zum Verständnis des Benutzerverhaltens bei der Mensch-Computer-Interaktion werden die hierfür wichtigen kognitiven und motorischen Prozesse sowie Grundlagen der Handlungssteuerung dargestellt. Der zweite Teil behandelt spezielle Themen der Gestaltung und Bewertung von Benutzeroberflächen: Bedeutung und Gütemerkmale von Namen für die Funktionen und Objekte eines Computersystems, Abkürzungsformen, Gestaltung von Kommandosprachen; Vor- und Nachteile der Menüauswahl, Formen der Menüsuche, Methoden der Auswahl von Menüoptionen, Gestaltung von Menüsystemen, Orientierungshilfen; Gestaltung von Bildschirmausgaben, Organisation von Artbeitsbereichen auf dem Bildschirm, Verwendung von Farben, Darbietung von Zeichen und Text auf dem Bildschirm, Gestaltung von Tabellen und Eingabemasken; Unterstützung menschlicher Informationsverarbeitung durch Diagramme, Methoden der Darstellung von Tabellen als Diagramme, Einsatz und Gestaltung von Piktogrammen
