Topics covered include: the growing influence of the computing in indexing; discussions on the criteria for awarding the Wheatley Medal for Indexing; the establishment of the SI's Register in 1968; couses in indexing run by the society; the issue of copyright for indexers; features in the society's journal 'The Indexer'; the publication of some classic textbooks on indexing; and the SI's first national conference held in 1976
