Abstract

Reviews Grolier Online's Web-based service which offers access to 2 digital encyclopaedias: the Grolier Multimedia Encyclopedia (GME) and the Encyclopedia Americana. Describes and compares the coverage of the 2 encyclopaedias and provides details of system requirements and individual and institutional subscriptions. The company hopes that the Web service will become the resource of choice for schools, libraries, and other organizations that need to provide access to general-reference information for multiple users.
