Abstract

Presents some facts and figures on many 19th- and 20th-century Italian serials catalogues, examined during a bibliography study tour of libraries and documentation centres in 7 cities. Describes the catalogues' structures in general terms, often citing catalogue titles and the numbers and types of periodicals held in collections. Provides brief historical background notes, and comments posotovely or negatively on features of the catalogues, located in Milan, Florence, Empoli, Leghorn, Cagliari, Sassari and Turin
