Account of the experience of the City of Geneva archives in using International Standard Archive Description - General (USAD-G) and making the resultant catalogue available on the Internet. The archives, initiated in 1986, comprise some 100 lots: 2 part-time staff took 10 months to complete the project. ISAD-G fields requiring research to complete were not fully treated. Internet availability offers ease of update, and feedback can be used for further refinement. At present Swiss institutions largely ignore both ISAD-G and the Internet
