In der Ausgabe 1995/96 sind insgesamt 5.118 Bibliotheken verzeichnet, und zwar folgende Bibliothekstypen: Nationalbibliotheken, Zentrale Fachbibliotheken, Regionalbibliotheken, Universitätsbibliotheken, Hoch- und Fachhochschulbibliotheken, Öffentliche Bibliotheken mit hauptamtlichem Personal, Wissenschaftliche Spezialbibliotheken mit mehr als 5.001 Medieneinheiten, alle Bibliotheken, die auch im Sigelverzeichnis für die Bundesrepublik Deutschland verzeichnet werden
