Abstract

The ISI's Electronic Library Project (ELP) is a cooperative research and development study that was initiated as a result of user demand for electronic access to high quality selection of scientific journal literature as well as to the images of those journals themselves. Designed to enable publishers, librarians, and researchers to explore many of the complex issues pertaining to the library of the future, the ELP would have been pointless and impossible to develop without their participation. Examines the reasons for and results of those partnerships. Describes the project's status
