Abstract

"In den modernen Kommunikationssytemen sind Information, Meinung, Unterhaltung getrennt institutionalisiert. Tendenziell nimmt die Information ab, macht der Unterhaltung Platz und findet schließlich in ihr Unterschlupf: Information bleibt interessant, soweit sie unterhaltsam ist. Die Entwicklung der Welt unter den Simulakren der Medien ist ein postmoderner Topos. Der sog. postmoderne Diskurs will zeigen, wie wenig wirklich die Wirklichkeit ist. Mit der Absage an den Realismus verliert die Information ihren eigenständigen Belang. Wie ein Vergleich des Fernsehens mit klassischen Bilderkulturen ergibt, ist deren kontemplativer Realismus in den neuen Medien ersetzt durch die kreative Realisierung immer neuer Unterhaltenswelten"
