Presents useful advice on performing searches on the WWW using the major search engines. Recommends that users get to know their sources and subjects and bear in mind the limitations of search sites. Pays particular attention to the use of Boolean searching and notes AltaVista's new approach: Live Topics; as a variation on Boolean searching. Concludes with a brief note on the use of specialized search engines and methods for searching for graphics
