Abstract

Outlines the European Commission's proposal for a 3 year programme covering language aspects of the information society, aimed at givinbg citizens equal opportunities for participating in the new 'Information Age'. It will comprise 3 action lines: 1. supporting the construction of an infrastructure for European language resources; 2. mobilising and expanding the language industries; and 3. promoting the use of advanced language tools in the European public sector
