Abstract

Das Internet ist ein bedeutendes Medium der Informationsgesellschaft geworden - und erhält deshalb auch einen immer größeren ökonomischen Wert. Die Entwicklungsländer fürchten aber, daß sie den Anschluß verpassen. Holger Baum, Vorsitzender von Germanwatch, einer entwicklungspolitischen Nichtregierungsorganisation (NRO) mit Sitz in Bonn, Klaus Boldt, entwicklungspolitischer Fachjournalist in Laufenburg am Bodensee, und Kambiz Ghawami, Geschäftsführer des world University Service mit Sitz in Wiesbaden, haben die Bedeutung und die Chancen des Internets für die Länder des Südens untersucht.
