Abstract

Briefly reviews some of the technqiues available for the searching of information contained in image databases, including: IBM's Query by Image Content (QBIC; http://www.qbic.almaden.ibm.com): Virage Inc.'s Query by Pictorial Example (http://www.virage.com) and Excalibur Technologies' (Visual Retrievalware) Adaptive Pattern Recognition Processing (http://www.excalib.com)
