Abstract

Discusses whether Kondratieff's theories of economic cycles could be applied to the advent of information relation industries, and if patterns can be determined within the growth of technologies. Points out that previous futurologists did not foresee the revolution in communications which has dramatically altered the patterns in the IT arena, making it even more difficult now to forecast what might happen in 20 years time
