Abstract

The transition period in Russia has launched new challenges against nation-wide information centres. The example of the Scientific and Technical Information Centre of Russia (VNTIC) is used to discuss possible solutions to the newly-emerged problems. In the heart of the described approach is VNTIC process re-engineering including a marketwise structural reorganization and a technological re-equipment project initiative
