Bericht über die 'Prinzipien', die für die ganze ASB beziehungsweise hauptgruppenübergreifend gelten. Dazu zählen alle generellen Festlegungen zur Gliederung, zum Schlagwortfonds sowie zur Systematisierung

Enthält folgende Abschnitte: 1. Interne Terminologie; darin: "Die von der Klassifikationstheorie vorgegebenen ... Begriffe 'Klasse', 'Hauptklasse' und 'Unterklasse' werden nicht verwendet, da sie in den Öffentlichen Bibliotheken wenig gebräuchlich sind. Die Verwendung ungewohnter Bezeichnungen soll keine Barriere bei der Einführung der überarbeiteten ASB sein. In der Vergangenheit, zum Beispiel im Vorwort der 81er Ausgabe der ASB, wurden bereits die Begriffe 'Hauptgruppe', 'Gruppe' und 'Untergruppe' benutzt". - "Ergebnisse der Systematisierung sind 'Hauptsystemort (HSO)' und 'Nebensystemort/e (NSO)'". // 2.
