Abstract
Darstellung zur Leistungsfähigkeit eines Menschen, eine Anzahl von Büchern innerhalb einer bestimmten Zeitspanne zu lesen und die Wirkung, die Zitate aus Büchern hervorrufen oder hervorrufen sollen: "6 Sätze aus 6 verschiedenen Büchern, von denen man nichts als diesen einen Satz gelesen oder auch nur zitiert gefunden hat, beschwören das Bild endloser Bücherwände und vieler vor ihnen verbrachter Tage herauf, während die vollständige Lektüre eines 600 Seiten langen Buches den Verdacht von Borniertheit erregen mag. Das Ansehen des Gelehrten, des professionellen Lesers, beruht nicht auf seinen wirklichen Lektüren, sondern auf der geschickten darstellung imaginärer Lektüren, nicht auf den Büchern also, die er gelesen hat, sondern auf denen, deren Lektüre man ihm zutraut."
