Abstract
Online- und CD-ROM-Datenbanken sind Medien der Fachinformation, deren wirkliche Nutzungspotentiale bei weitem noch nicht ausgenutzt werden. Vorliegende Forschungsergebnisse zeigen, daß die beschreibung der Rechercheprobleme und die sich daran anschließende Entwicklung der ersten Suchfrage den Erfolg von Datenbankrecherchen maßgeblich beeinflussen. Erfolgreichere Endnutzerrecherchen sind somit in erster Linie durch die effektive Unterstützung bei der Vorbereitung von Datenbankrecherchen zu erreichen. Aus diesem Grunde wird in dieser Arbeit die optimale Recherchevorbereitung analysiert, indem die Interaktion zwischen professionellen Informationsvermittlern und deren Kunden empirisch untersucht wird. Ferner wird ein Konzept zur Unterstützung von Endnutzerrecherchen bei der Vorbereitung von Recherchen in agrar- und ernährungswissenschaftlichen Datenbanken entwickelt. Dieses Konzept wird in einem Prototypen implementiert, der anschließend nach softwareergonomischen Kriterien evaluiert wird
