Abstract

Presents results of a survey and work undertaken as part of the British Library funded 'Investigation into the quality of databases in general use in the UK' project undertaken by the Centre for Information Quality Management (CIQM). Draws attention to database quality problems in library and information services through a literature review concentrating on the implications of poor quality on users, work undertaken in the area, and measures taken for further quality improvement. Reports on the setting up of CIQM to deal with database quality problems and the apllications of British Standard BS5750 to database quality
