"Wenn alles gut geht, wird die World Biodiversity Database auf CD-ROM irgendwann im Lauf des nächsten Jahrhunderts einigermaßen vollständig sein - ein digitales Abbild der Evolution. Man sollte sie dann in einer Raumsonde ins All schicken: auf daß die Vielfalt irdischen Lebens irgendwo da draußen vielleicht mehr Bewunderung erfährt als auf dem Heimatplaneten
