Abstract

Reviews WinSPIRS, the new Windows software for SilverPlatter CD-ROMs. Looks at the main features of systems. Covers: the user interface, term selection and entry, index browsing, field indexing, indexes and multidatabases, thesaurus, subject lookups, jump-start searching with the thesaurus, limiting, positional operators, and displaying, printing, and downloading records. Concludes that upgrading to Windows to use WinSPIRS is worth the hardware installation
