Abstract
Reports the growing trend among database producers to release the same CD-ROM database on more than 1 proprietary system (SilverPlatter, CD PLUS etc.) and stresses the fact that the different search and display software that each host brings to the database can make a very real difference to the databases' characterisitcs. Suggests that potential users of a particular database should shed all preconceptions and treat each host's version of the database as completey different databases
